Ready to Serve For Osgoode Ward Councillor
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be visiting homes and businesses throughout Osgoode Ward. I'm here to listen to your concerns, ideas, and suggestions. Your voice matters, and it’s incredibly important to me as I seek your support in the upcoming municipal by-election on June 16th. Together, let’s build on our past successes and continue to protect the strong, proud, rural lifestyle that defines Osgoode Ward. Let’s keep our community thriving now and for future generations.
I’ve proudly called Osgoode home for over 30 years. I’m happily married to Steven Velthuis, and we’ve raised two incredible children Brendan and Nicole, and are honoured to have my mother Ghyslaine live with us right here in Osgoode on our family farm established in 1959. Steven and his brother Paul Velthuis and his family together, we operate Velthuis Farms Ltd., one of the larger dairy and beef operations in the City of Ottawa, and the home of VFL Wagyu — a premium full-blood Wagyu beef operation rooted in pride, hard work, and community.
With a degree in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Ottawa and an executive certificate from the Harvard School of Business, I built a 35+ year career in the high-tech sector, including 26 years as an executive with IBM Canada, where I was honored with IBM's prestigious Leadership Award and multiple 100% Club Awards for excellence. But my heart has always been in the community, coaching, volunteering, fundraising, and helping build the Osgoode we all love.
